One of the great movie lines of all time from Shawshank Redemption....

"Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying"
"Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying"

As we say, "We're here to help you refresh your success in two critical ways, either to help you re-align your team focus, strength and resolve, or, to help you and your partners fail forward and move on to new projects, teams, and future successes".

Success and failure (and everything in between) define us as entrepreneurs, and failure is winning the odds race all day long, so get used to it. I didn't say like it, but get used to it.

Chip and I have failed more than our fair share. I can say personally that I have made bad founder/partner choices, was too late or too early to market, thought my tech was better than it was, didn't scale fast enough or just couldn't convince venture that our team had what it takes. This has NEVER felt good or remotely OK. But, the experiences and lessons learned working in or around 30+ start-ups are the very reason we started Endure. In some regard this is our greatest asset. We have a mountain of good and bad lessons learned to actually help you and your team "objectively" avoid the mistakes that we made. Entrepreneurs minimize risk and accelerate reward, what better way to do both? The number of times that I wished (or needed) someone calm, objective and credible (fellow entrepreneur) to help my team pause, reflect, and right the ship is staggering. We can steer away from the rocks or drive into them, sometimes it's really hard to know which is right; we get it, we've been there, and it really does suck!

So, what about your EIR, venture partner, advisors, angels or mentors? Can't they help? Yes, in principle they should, but the reality is that politics lives everywhere as a founder, and when we are in the corner we're never objective. We naturally try to manipulate the people around us as a lever to further our own agenda, play games, get people fired. No Bueno!

So here's the deal - Take action, and despite the fact that this sounds like a blatant plug, the truth is that we all REALLY do need objective third party insight to help us cut through very difficult times. This is our shared truth as entrepreneurs, and maybe even a little personal therapy for guys like us that want to help you figure it out. You once really trusted respected, and believed in your partners. If you can't do so moving forward then that's OK, move on to other projects, believe in the future, believe in yourself again. Be like Andy - get busy living or get busy dying. And, if you haven't seen the movie, see it and watch the last scene, you'll know why we say this!
